Space Network Ground Segment Sustainment (SGSS)
Omitron provided systems engineering and subject matter expertise for the Space Network (SN) Ground Segment Sustainment Project (SGSS) with a focus on Service Management (SM), Fleet and Ground Management (FGM) with regard to the interface to the Space Network Expansion (SNE), and Maintenance Training Facility (MTF) elements. Omitron provided oversight of implementation contractor activities, designs, and product deliveries. Omitron engineers also participated in technical trade studies and in the assessment of existing and emerging technologies and trends of scheduling engine software, customer service needs, customer communication, and interaction interfaces. These assessments included identification and analysis of risks, technical performance measures, and transition needs specific to the Space Network.

Highlights included:

  • Provided element lead support for SM
  • Contributed to the assembly and review of RFP materials
  • Conducted various studies and assessments of the application of different technologies, products, and standards to the SGSS
  • Provided review and approval of IBR materials and subsequent EVM changes for SM
  • Served as a liaison between SGSS and various external entities
  • Participated in risk and CCB reviews
  • Provided general design oversight for responsible elements
  • Participated in various program reviews including IBR, MSRs, SRR, EPRs, and PDRs
  • Participated or lead in various TIMs and working groups
  • Served as a review board member for the SM ePDR
  • Provided oversight and review of L4-L6 requirements for responsible elements
  • Provided review of contractor supplied CDRL documents
  • Reported to project management on development status, design issue, program risk, and contractor performance for responsible elements
