The National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) is a member of the U.S. Intelligence Community and an agency of the Department of Defense (DoD). The National Reconnaissance Operations Center (NROC) is the focal point for current operations and for time-sensitive space-borne intelligence reporting for the United States Intelligence Community (USIC). NROC serves as a back-up to the Joint Space Operations Center (JSpOC), located at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California.

The 19th Space Defense Squadron is located at the Naval Support Facility Dahlgren, VA, 53 miles south of Washington DC. The unit is a geographically separated unit of Space Delta 2 (the Delta responsible for Space Domain Awareness), garrisoned at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado. We support the 19thSDS through ASW support and orbital analysts.

The NASA Swift mission is a first-of-its-kind multi-wavelength observatory dedicated to the study of gamma-ray burst science. The Ground Network for Swift (“GNEST”) consists of the Mission Operations Center (MOC), the Swift Science and Data Centers at GSFC, RF Ground Stations, TDRSS, and Communications Networks interfacing the various elements. The Italian Space Agency’s Malindi Ground Station located in Kenya, Africa is the prime ground station supporting the Swift mission.

U.S. Space Command (USSPACECOM) is a Combatant Command with its Provisional Headquarters located at Peterson Space Force Base (SFB) in Colorado Springs, Colorado. USSPACECOM actively employs forces from the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Space Force to deliver space effects to joint and combined forces and protect and defend the space domain.
Space Operations Command (SpOC), also located at Peterson SFB, is responsible for organizing, training, equipping, and presenting US Space Force (USSF) forces to Combatant Commanders.

SpOC West’s mission is to plan, integrate, conduct, and assess global space operations in order to deliver combat relevant space capabilities to Combatant Commanders, Coalition partners, the Joint Force, and the Nation.
